The Museum "Life and work of our Ancestors"

UNIQUE IN BELGIUM!!

CAUTION: Temporarily, the museum is closed because of the damage caused with the beams of the 1st stage.

Under the ancient XVIth century timber, and on a surface of 500m2, there is an important and remarkable collection of more than 3.000 tools and objects which remind of 40 crafts from the biginning of the XXth century. You'll discover too an old kitchen (picture below), a bakery, a forest and all the trades relating to the wood : sabot-maker, carpenter,...

In the other rooms, you will discover the corner reserved for work of the farm, the mine, the barber, the shoe-maker, the harness-maker, the zinc worker which côtoient the corner “memory” with toys which formerly, made the joy of the children, a gramophone EDISON with its large house which goes back to 1890. Like, the room to lay down grandparents, the school with his bench, its books, and its penholder. A corner reserved for the seam, lace and the embroidery. And to finish, a room with an open fire is devoted to the trades of baker, pastrycook, marshal-shoeing and veterinary.
