CASTLE OF TRAZEGNIES : EXHIBITIONS
The asbl “the Friends of the Castle of Trazegnies” presents to the public, free visits or guided on reservation, their rich inheritances and collections through permanent exhibitions:
1. Visit of the castle, its frontage Louis XIII, his rooms of banquet, its cellars Romance and Gothic, its park with its tercentenary plane tree, the small castle of entry with its drawbridge like its prestigious room of the knights with its mural frescos.
2. Museum of anciens Tools: “Life and Work of our ancestors ”
3. Exhibitions of paintings and sculptures of differents Belgian artists : “Paintings of Jean Ransy, Albert Mascaux and Romeo Dumoulin” and the
“Paintings and Sculptures of Charles Delporte”
Every year, from 1 may until end of september, the asbl proposes a series of temporary exhibitions, accessible every Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, and on reservation too for the groups. This year the topics are varied - there will be for all the tastes:
1. The museum “Life and Work of our ancestors ” being closed due to work, exhibitions are organized to evoke part of the collections of the old tools in order to make discover to the public the trades of our ancestors. This year, 5 trades are exposed : the embroidery, the lacemaker, the farm, the mine and kitchen of formerly
" Model ".
